22-year-old David Alan McBurnett was pulled over for having faulty equipment on his vehicle. When the officer approached the vehicle and asked McBurnett for documentation, he noticed what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette behind his ear.

Some criminals are far too absentminded.

A routine traffic stop in Brooksville, Florida led to an easy arrest.

22-year-old David Alan McBurnett was pulled over for having faulty equipment on his vehicle. Classified as a very minor traffic violation, he most likely would have walked away with a verbal warning.

However, when the officer approached the vehicle and asked McBurnett for documentation and driver’s license, he noticed what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette or joint behind his ear. A field test confirmed the content of the rolled cigarette was indeed pot.

McBurnett was on probation at the time of the traffic stop for homicide/manslaughter by culpable negligence. He was arrested yet again in the newest incident.

McBurnett was charged with possession of marijuana and violating felony probation. His vehicle was immediately impounded and held at the Brooksville Police Department.

McBurnett is now being detained at the Hernando County Jail. His chances of gaining freedom anytime soon are slim though, as he is being held with bond.
