Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu says Ankara has no doubts that forces of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad were responsible for a chemical attack near Damascus last week.
(SOUNDBITE) (Turkish) TURKISH FOREIGN MINISTER, AHMET DAVUTOGLU, SAYING:
"The question is who did this? The regime initially denied using chemical weapons but later on they had to admit that chemical weapons were used but they blamed the opposition for this. However from our point of view, totally based on our national intelligence and assessments by our national experts there is no doubt that the regime is responsible."
Turkey has said previously it would be ready to take part in any international action against Assad, even outside the auspices of the United Nations.
