A priest, Fabian Baez was recently spotted cruising around with Pope Francis in the Popemobile.
Hitching a ride with the pope is typically the type of stuff you can only dream about. However one lucky Reverend, from Buenos Aires, actually got do to just that.
The priest, Fabian Baez was recently spotted cruising around with Pope Francis in the Popemobile. The pair was waving and interacting with the undoubtedly surprised crowd gathered around St. Peter's Square.
According to reports, Francis knew Baez from his former days of serving as archbishop of Buenos Aires. The ride wasn’t prearranged either.
As soon as the pope saw and recognized Baez in the crowd, which was said to be comprised of thousands, he invited him to hop in and take a ride.
Francis helped him climb into the Popemobile and said “This photo is going to go around the world"
After Baez was comfortably seated in the Popemobile the vehicle took off, giving Francis the opportunity to wave and kiss babies.
While he acted nonchalant, Baez was certainly shocked. A video captured him with a huge grin on his face. At one point, he nervously waved to an onlooker.
