Bodies are pulled from a coal mine in western Turkey after a massive explosion and fire on Tuesday. The death toll is now about 280 in one of the country's worst mining disaster ever.

30-year old underground crane operator Murat Yokus came out alive.

"When the explosion ripped through my shift was over and I was heading to the exit. I saw smoke and thought something was on fire but I couldn't figure out what was going on because we were not close to that area. We went to another section and waited there for nearly four hours and after spending four hours there, I cannot remember what happened. The oxygen was reducing and after a while they found us."

His mining days are over.

"I will do my best not to enter a coal mine ever again. If the government helps, provides opportunities for decent work then it might change but I won't go underground
