After the party was over
My guests slowly drifted away
All full of my liquid refreshment
But nobody offered to stay
My carpet with trodden in pastry
White rings on my antique side table
Half empty cans of strong larger
Dripped anywhere tip-ups were able
Someone had emptied an ashtray
And worked it well into the pile
Not the done thing at a party
So that’s the last one for a while
