The pedestal I put you on
Is 'obvious' to everyone,
They say that I exaggerate
And that you really aren't that great,
They say I can't have any pride
Letting you take me for a ride,
They claim you use me, that I'm your fool
And that, in fact, you are quite cruel.
Who gives a damn what these wise guys say?
Why don't they simply 'go away'?
Their reasoning is so bizarre,
They don't know who you really are,
They haven't got the foggiest clue,
But I'm prepared to die for you!
