Smoke testing in plumbing is used to find places where sewer gases are entering a structure causing noxious odors.

Controlled non-toxic and odorless smoke is inserted in to the sewer system through a pre-determined access point. As the smoke travels through the sewer system, it will reveal the exact location where the gases are finding their way in to the house.
