The much-awaited report on Net Neutrality from the Telecom Department finally found favor with the telecom companies. Joining ET NOW’s Sandeep Gurumurthi & Supriya Shrinate to discuss what this report means for the telecom sector and what sort of an impact this will have on consumers, are Rajan Mathews of the COAI and Nikhil Pahwa - founder of Medianama.
While Nikhil Pahwa is of the view that regulating internet content providers is totally uncalled for and the situation of licensing will destroy 'Digital India', he believes legitimate traffic management is not a problem but telecos should not be able to blackmail content providers. Rajan Mathews says he is waiting to see how this report pans out in reality and that he supports net neutrality and its components.
