Më shumë se 6,7 milionë njerëz janë thirrur të votojnë për zgjedhjet presidenciale, legjislative, lokale dhe rajonale. Kutive të votimit u janë drejtuar edhe shqiptarët e Luginës së Preshevës. Kreu i komunës së Preshevës Ragmi Mustafa u ka bërë thirrje mbështetësve të tij ta bojkotojnë procesin për zgjedhjen e Presidentit dhe të Parlamentit dhe të fokusohen vetëm në zgjedhjet lokale. Ndërsa rivali i tij politik Riza Halimi, kërkon edhe një mandat tjetër si deputet në Parlamentin e Serbisë. Pavarësisht situatës së tensionuar të krijuar ditët e fundit, pas arrestimit të tetë shqiptarëve në luginë, procesi po vijon normalisht. Zgjedhje po zhvillohen edhe në 28 zona në territorin e Republikës së Kosovës, ku serbët e atjeshëm po votojnë për Parlamentin dhe Presidentin e ri. Procesi, i cili është organizuar nga OSBE, ka nisur që në mëngjes dhe po vijon pa problem. Ndërkohë që pavarësisht thirrjeve të Beogradit zyrtar dhe të ndërkombëtarëve, në dy komuna në veri të Mitrovicës, Zveçan dhe Zubin Potok, po votohet edhe për krerët e komunave paralele.
