Deklaratat e fundit te komandantit gjerman te KFOR-it, Erhard Drews, se i vinte turp për ekzistencën e barrikadës mbi lumit Iber ne Mitrovicë, janë komentuar si një dorëzim i trupave te NATO-s përballë realitetit ne terren nga ana e mediave ne vendin e tij. "Kapitullim i KFOR-it përballë barrikadave serbe," e kane quajtur disa nga te përditshmet gjermane. Ndërsa zyrtari i larte i serbeve te veriut, Kwrstmir Pantiç, ka deklaruar se barrikada serbe në Mitrovicë është simbol i rezistencës së kësaj popullsie ndaj dhunës së Prishtinës dhe jo simbol i turpit, siç e quajti komandanti i KFOR-it. Në një prononcim për agjencinë e lajmeve "Beta", Pantiç ka thënë se barrikada në urën mbi lumin Ibër është vendosur pas aksioneve, sipas tij, të njëanshme dhe të dhunshme të qeverisë së Prishtinës.
