Eight people on trekking expedition go missing in Kullu

Kullu, Mar 13 (ANI): Seven students and a guide on a trekking expedition have been missing in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district. The students of an engineering college in the northern state of Punjab, who, according to the institute, left without informing, went missing in Malana area in Parvati valley since Friday. Kullu Superintendent of Police Padam Chand said that they received a call from a group of people saying that they had lost their way. The police sent out rescue teams to locate the group. However, they have been unable to find them till now. Snowfall and extreme weather conditions hampered rescue operations, as they failed to go beyond 6000 feet. The police were initially in touch with the group through mobile phones, which have remained switched off since sometime. The rescue operations are still underway to find the trekkers.
