A heart warming video has emerged of two firefighters rescuing a ferret that fell into an old well.

The footage, shot in Hombourg-Haut, France, earlier this week, show one of the firefighters taking the ferret out of the hole and releasing it into the wild.

Sadly the baby ferret's mother was found dead in the well; the baby had stayed next to her after their assumed fall.
