The NOAA's Okeanos Explorer vessel recently came across a massive collection of basket stars.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration or NOAA's Okeanos Explorer team recently released a video showing dozens of basket stars in close proximity. 

Catching sight of these creatures in such large numbers and so close to one another is said to be rare. 

In the video, the deep-sea animals unfurl their pale arms which branch out over and over again in a fashion similar to fractals--notes one of the scientists in the footage.
