A storm brought heavy rain to the southern Arizona town of Tucson, leading to widespread flooding on Tuesday (August 9).
According to local media, police shut down parts of Interstate 10, a major east-west freeway.
Tucson Fire Department Public Information Officer Barrett Baker said the department received 75 calls related to the weather between 9am and 11am local time (1600-1800gmt) and carried out eight swift water rescues.
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood for the Tucson area through Wednesday (August 10) evening.
