Vikings' Adrian Peterson to have meniscus surgery

The Minnesota Vikings' star running back Adrian Peterson is having surgery to repair his torn meniscus on Thursday, coach Mike Zimmer confirmed.  Peterson is expected to be out several months. Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford said Wednesday. "He's the best running back in the NFL. It's just the next man up." Peterson was injured in the third quarter of Sunday night’s 17-14 win over the Green Bay Packers.
