In a massive victory to Karnataka and Kambala enthusiasts, President Pranab Mukherjee promulgated the ordinance legalizing the sport. A communication from the top office said that the President has approved the promulgation of the prevention of cruelty to animals (Karnataka Amendment) Ordinance, 2017. Now, Kambala is officially legal in Karnataka.

ಕರಾವಳಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಕಂಬಳ ಪ್ರೀಯರ ಬಹು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿತ ಕಂಬಳ ವಿಧೇಯಕಕ್ಕೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪತಿಗಳು ಅಂಕಿತ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಂಬಳ ಆಚರಣೆಗೆ ಇದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅಡೆತಡೆಗಳು ನಿವಾರಣೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಂದುರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪತಿಗಳು 'ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪ್ರಾಣಿ ಹಿಂಸಾಚಾರ ತಡೆಗಟ್ಟುವ (ತಿದ್ದುಪಡಿ) ವಿಧೇಯಕ - 2017'ಕ್ಕೆ ಅಂಕಿತ ಹಾಕುವ ಮೂಲಕ ತುಳುನಾಡಿನ ಜಾನಪದ ಕ್ರೀಡೆಗೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಚಾಲನೆ ದೊರಕಿದಂತಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರ ಜತೆಗೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಎತ್ತಿನಗಾಡಿ ಓಟಕ್ಕೂ ಹಾದಿ ಸುಗಮವಾಗಿದೆ.
