NewsX: Right to Information Act championed by the UPA 1 is set to be changed following the UPA 2 seeking amendment to lift the political partiers out of the ambit from the purview of the act.

Sources say that the Department of Personnel and Training has finalised a Cabinet note and has decided to seek Cabinet nod related to this direction.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who is also the minister in-charge of the DoPT, has apparently cleared the proposed amendments.
