NewsX: The government while defending the cabinet decision to keep political parties outside the ambit of the Right to Information (RTI) Act, stated that the political parties do not operate under the veil of secrecy. Law Minister Kapil Sibal said that they reveal the donations they receive to the Election Commission.

The reaction came after the cabinet on Thursday approved an amendment to the RTI Act which aims at keeping political parties out of its ambit.
