Transcript:

Hi welcome, my name is Sonia and I'm from LeadershipHQ. Today I'm going to be talking about neuroscience. This is a real passion of mine, I'm actually going to be publishing a lot of video blogs around this amazing tool of ours, the brain. So today I'm going to give you a little bit of context and understanding around this amazing organ that we have. So the brain weighs about 1.5 kilos but it actually takes about 20% of our body's energy. Oh my gosh if you think about the ratio between the brain and the rest of our body it actually takes up a lot of our energy, no wonder at the end of the day our brains seem to be quite exhausted and fried. That's why it's imperative that we actually take care of our brain, and that means taking regular breaks, drinking lots of water, getting some fresh air and exercise. Neuroscientists have actually proven that these things make a huge difference to our brain.

I know we all know it but we spend so much of our day paddling and running around and doing so much that we don't really take the time out to take a rest, reflect, take a deep breath, have a glass of water and think about how we can actually take care of this most important organ. So over the next few months I'm actually going to be recording some video blogs around neuroscience in particular the difference between men and women's brains, that's a really interesting topic. Change, collaboration, decision making, self regulation, resilience, negotiation, influencing. You know the different parts of the brain. I'm going to be talking about our thoughts, our feelings, how can we actually best manage our brains effectively.

If you'd like to hear anything in particular about neuroscience or even leadership because I spent a lot of time working with my leaders and organizations around this amazing organ and how it actually works, and if we are able to use it effectively then we can be the best thatwe can be. So if you're interested in hearing anything in particular, please reach out to me, don't forget you're amazing and wake up every day and be the best you can be. Thanks again, have a great day, bye.
