Hong Kong’s International Airport was caught up in the chaos of a citywide general strike on August 5, 2019.  The strike aimed to force the Hong Kong government to give in to protesters’ demands, including the full withdrawal of a now-shelved extradition bill and an inquiry into police actions over the handling of demonstrations.
