The Assam minister is now the BJP’s Northeast India strategist. He played a key role in scripting the party’s spectacular performance in recent elections in the region, especially in dethroning of the Left Front in Tripura.Sarma joined the BJP in 2015, just a year ahead of the Assam elections, and together with Sarbananda Sonowal, now the chief minister, decimated the Congress that ruled the state for 15 years.

धार्मिक गुरु सतपाल महाराज ने अपना राजनीतिक करियर कांग्रेस के साथ शुरू किया था. उत्‍तराखंड में बड़ी तादाद में उनके समर्थक हैं. उन्‍होंने मार्च 2014 में भ्रष्‍टाचार का आरोप लगाते हुए कांग्रेस से किनारा कर बीजेपी का दामन थाम लिया. इसके बाद उत्‍तराखंड विधानसभा चुनाव 2017 में वह बीजेपी के टिकट पर जीते. फिलहाल वह उत्‍तराखंड सरकार में पर्यटन, संस्‍कृति और सिंचाई मंत्री हैं. जबकि उत्तराखंड में कांग्रेस सत्ता से बाहर है.
