EU May Bar American Travelers
Due to Coronavirus Failures The news comes as the E.U. is
beginning to reopen its borders after months
of shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. The nations that comprise the E.U.
are negotiating over which travelers
to let in and which to keep out
as the bloc moves towards opening up. The criteria is based on
how well countries outside of the
E.U. have responded to the COVID-19 crisis. According to media reports,
an early draft list would bar travelers
from the U.S., Brazil and Russia. According to Johns Hopkins University,
there are more than 2,300,000 cases of
coronavirus in the U.S. alone.
More than 121,000 people have died. U.S. President Donald Trump
banned travelers from most E.U. nations in March.
At the time, Europe was the epicenter of the virus. The E.U. is expected to announce
its new travel policies sometime this week.
