ಉಗಾಂಡಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಈಗ ಕಾಡು ಖಡ್ಗಮೃಗಗಳಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಲವಾರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ, ರೈನೋ ಫಂಡ್ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಿತ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂತಾನೋತ್ಪತ್ತಿ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಮುಂದೊಂದು ದಿನ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಉಗಾಂಡಾದ ಕಾಡಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಬಹುದು.
