Sawan Shivratri, one of the most auspicious observances in the Hindu calendar that falls on August 6 this year. Shivratri is celebrated to honour the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The great festival occurs every lunar month and is known as Masik Shivaratri. Apart from observing fast and following rituals, people also exchange lovely wishes and greetings to fellow Shiva-Bhakt.
