Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid a floral tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary at the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Gujarat. While addressing the crowd, he said, “National Unity Day has a unique importance. Today is a day of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. After independence, while leaving, Britishers had conspired to divide India into several pieces. Sardar Patel foiled that conspiracy and resolved to make 'Akhand Bharat'.”
