Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin met with Secretary of National Defense of the Philippines Gilbert Teodoro Jr. in Hawaii to preside over the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command change of command ceremony on Thursday, May 2 (US TIME).

Austin hosted a quadrilateral meeting with Teodoro and their Japanese and Australian counterparts.
