A total of 281 pro-Palestinian protesters were detained in Amsterdam on Wednesday evening as they rallied despite a ban imposed after violence stemming from a football match between Ajax and Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv last week.

Dutch authorities are investigating allegations of police violence during the dispersal of the banned rally, which was intended to prevent further unrest.
