More residents have been forced to abandon their homes following evacuation orders as fast-moving flames continued to engulf the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, with firefighters rushing in to contain fires.

The death toll from the Los Angeles area wildfires rose to 24, the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner announced on Sunday (Jan 12).
