The Biden administration has allocated $635 million in electric vehicle charger grants just days before Donald Trump takes office. The move leaves $700,000 unspent from the $2.5 billion in the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The grants will fund projects to deploy over 11,000 EV charging ports and alternative fuel infrastructure across twenty-seven states, four tribes, and the District of Columbia. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg stated that EV charger investments aim to make finding a charge as convenient as refueling at a gas station.
