KMT, TPP Lawmakers Slash 2025 Government Budget by US$2.9 Billion

Opposition party lawmakers from the Kuomintang and Taiwan People's Party ruled to cut the central government's budget across agencies by nearly US$2.9 billion, about 3% of the total 2025 budget, arguing the originally proposed sum is too high. Taiwan's Cabinet warns the cuts will harm the country's development.
