India Energy Week 2026 Day 2 | Indian Oil on Hydrogen, Energy Transition & Atmanirbhar Push

At India Energy Week 2026 in Goa, Indian Oil shared its vision for India’s clean and secure energy future, with a strong focus on hydrogen, affordability and Atmanirbhar Bharat. Speaking on Day 2 of the conference, Saurabh Dutt, Executive Director (Corporate Communications & Branding), Indian Oil, highlighted the company’s efforts to make hydrogen commercially viable, with a clear target of bringing costs down to USD-200 per kg or below. Indian Oil showcased its ongoing initiatives, including a 10 kilo-tonne hydrogen plant at Panipat, and underlined its commitment to import substitution, indigenous technology development and innovation. With Indian Oil currently contributing nearly 9% of India’s total energy demand, the company aims to increase this to 12% in the coming years, while ensuring a smooth transition from conventional fuels to future-ready energy solutions. From hydrogen and natural gas to petrochemicals and advanced technologies, Indian Oil positions itself as a key pillar in powering India’s growing economy and energy needs.
