Qualcomm call it a powerful integrated single chip design that includes standard processing capabilities along with modem and multimedia functions. The 7x30 chipset also embeds 3D graphics processing abilities that allows for drawing of over twenty million triangles per second, something along the lines of what a standalone gaming console can do. Using the Google Android operating system, a game was displayed that looked really good on the small form factor device and also looked to be running very smoothly. The other demonstration was a 3D UI that was attached on top of the standard Android install that was designed to show what Qualcomm’s graphics hardware is capable of producing. Keep in mind that what you are seeing in the video above is purely a development platform and you’ll never be able to buy these devices. But it does provide a good indication of the type of experience you’ll see from one of the handset providers that Qualcomm works with such as HTC. Distributed by Tubemogul.
