Iraq: US to cease 'combat', but 50,000 troops to remain

IRAQ - US MILITARY: The US is on track to end "combat operations" and take the number of US forces in Iraq down to 50,000 by August 31 amid doubts over plans to withdraw all troops by 2012. The remaining US troops will now focus on training Iraqi soldiers and police.
