Baked Pita Bread - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. I am going to show you how to make a healthy alternative to buying that fried bag of chips at the super market for your home made humus. Here is what we are going to do: I am going to make baked pita chips using simply a bag of pitas that you can buy at the super market and a few other ingredients, you probably already have laying around your home. First thing you want to do is take one or two pitas and put them on a cutting board, take a knife - sharp knife - and cut them in half, and then again in two quarters, and then keep cutting those into eights. Well, then what I am going to do is put those onto a cookie sheet, and then I am going to rub them with just a little bit of oil. I am using vegetable oil, you can use olive oil or any other type that you have got laying around. I am going to do that on both sides, and I am using what is called a pastry brush, this is an easy way to apply my oil to my pita chips. But you can also use a paper towel that has been soaked in oil, does not really matter. Now, I want to give this a little bit of extra character and flavor to it, so I am going to put on a little bit of smoked paprika , which gives it a nice little spice and really nice flavor, and it also makes it look really nice. So let's sprinkle those on top, and then what I am going to do is put these into an oven at 350 degrees for about 8 to 10 minutes until they come out nice and crispy. When they are done, here is how they look. So, I am going to take these pita chips, and make the perfect dip for my humus.
