Alleyha Dannett has been named the 2013 Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich Youth of the Year.
"I'm ecstatic actually,I'm really proud and amazed that they chose me and I'm really honored as well"
Out of nine applicants, 16-year old Alleyha was chosen for her character, leadership skills, and willing to give back to the community
Being named Youth of the Year is the highest honor a Boys Girls Club member can receive. Alleyha has been a member of the club for 7 years and has always been a leader
The Club's Executive Director says Alleyha has a bright future ahead of her.
Alleyha will compete against 15 other Boys Girls Club Youth of the Year winners for the Connecticut Youth of the Year title and a $1,000 college scholarship on May 8th in Hartford. In Greenwich, Kwegyirba Croffie, It's Relevant.com
